The pot is a one off, made by pulling, poking, squeezing, painting, writing and drawing. It shows off the beauty of clay as an expressive medium and it's ability to capture moments.
Unfortunately this work had a wee issue in the kiln and blew out it's bottom (see last photo) it is still functional and the damaged bit has been glazed over.
This ceramic pot was made in celebration of the community who came to join me in celebrating the opening of my new artist's studio. It is imbued with the vibrancy of that day, features wings representing what may come and words from the poem When You Look Back by Donna Ashworth.
...spreading love, spreading light, breaking and rebuilding and giving of your beautiful self freely...
Diameter - 14cm at widest point, 8cm base.
Height - 15cm (base to tip of the wing)
White stoneware clay, underglaze with clear glaze.
